Central Ohio Car and Bike Events for May 18 – 25, 2026

1966 Ford Mustang - Owner: David Rust

This coming weekend marks the first of three summer holiday weekends, with Memorial Day falling on Monday, May 25th. The holiday means a packed schedule of Central Ohio car and bike events, including several Memorial Day shows on Monday itself. Several shows scheduled for this past weekend have been rescheduled for this coming weekend because of weather.

The weather forecast is calling for warmer, more summer-like temperatures, but there’s also a chance of rain nearly every day. Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates a little better than the forecast suggests.

Because of the holiday weekend, next week’s Central Ohio car and bike events list will be posted on Tuesday (May 26th) instead of Monday.

NEWS AND NOTES

Der Dutchman Cruise-In:

It was another chilly evening for the second Der Dutchman Cruise-In of the season. Attendance dipped slightly from opening week, with about 226 vehicles turning out — roughly six fewer than the season opener. Give it another couple of weeks and everyone will probably be complaining that it’s too hot instead.

Here are a few of the rides that braved the 60-degree temperatures on Thursday evening.

The Gregg Crites Octagon House Car Show:

Saturday’s weather forecast led to two shows being postponed, while the morning thunderstorms kept attendance down at the events that did decide to stay with the schedule.

One of those events, the Gregg Crites Octagon House Car Show, drew just five vehicles. After it appeared the rain might continue for several more hours, organizers made the decision to wrap things up early at noon. Everyone who attended received a Top 20 award along with a free tour of the Octagon House.

Aside from the weather, the only other issue was the lack of restroom facilities. Whoops!

Cruisin' With The King:

The Mid Ohio Cruisers Car Club hosted its second show of the season Saturday evening at the Burger King on SR-31 in Marysville, Ohio.

The rain had finally moved out of the area, making for a perfect evening for a car show. The club registered 49 vehicles, with another eight cars showing up but opting not to register. Along with free registration, participants also had a chance at door prizes and a 50/50 raffle that grew to $215.

As always, club members selected their favorite vehicles from the registered entries to receive award plaques.

Here are this month’s “Favorite 15":

The next Cruisin' With The King Show will be June 20th.

Armed Forces Cruise-In:

Every now and then, a laid-back car event can end up being one of the most enjoyable parts of the hobby. No pressure to make sure your vehicle is spotless, no worries about judging — just a few hours spent hanging out with friends and talking about cars.

That’s exactly what the Armed Forces Cruise-In turned into Sunday afternoon at the American Legion Post 171 in Westerville, Ohio.

About 45 vehicles stopped by throughout the afternoon. The post sold hot dogs, brats, chips, water or soft drinks for anyone looking to grab a bite, but otherwise the event was simply about relaxing, talking cars, and enjoying the warmer weather. Later in the afternoon, an ice cream truck stopped by to satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

Here are many of the cars that helped make the afternoon cruise-in a success:

Marion Franklin High School Baseball Car Show:

Shawn “Big Dawg” Sanders and the C-Town Cruisers were at Marion-Franklin High School on Sunday hosting a fundraising car show to benefit the Marion-Franklin baseball team.

The show registered 57 vehicles, with a nice variety of cars and trucks filling the school parking lot throughout the afternoon. Dave O’Brien was kind enough to send over some photos from the event. Dave also picked up a Top 35 award with his 1982 Chevy “Orange Crush” C10 pickup, along with Gerald Wickers and Mark and Mary Lester, who also brought home Top 35 honors.

British Car Days Columbus:

Knowing someone with a British car definitely has its advantages — especially when they can provide a firsthand report from British Car Day Columbus. That’s exactly what our good friend Tim Hooten was kind enough to do.

“Hi Kim… The British Car Show today had 173 cars total. I took a quick video of about half of the parking lot along with a photo of my plaque for winning my class. There were only four cars in my class this year, so the odds were definitely in my favor! They gave awards for 30 different classes….cars and motorcycles. Anyway, hope this helps you!”

Krieger All Ford Show:

If you owned a Ford — or were simply a Ford enthusiast — the place to be on Sunday was Krieger Ford in Columbus, Ohio, where the Mustang Club of Ohio hosted its annual All Ford Show.

Congratulations go out to Arch Mayer and Dustin Bowers. Dustin received an Award of Excellence in his class, while Arch brought home a first-place finish in his class.

Arch also sent along the following report from the show:

“I think attendance was around 160 cars. They had a lot of pre-registered cars not show because of the weather. The show was sold out in advance, and if you weren’t there by 11 a.m., you didn’t get judged — even if you were pre-registered. The roads were still wet when I left around 10:30 this morning. Dave said most of the people who didn’t show were Mustang clubs from out of town that decided not to make the trip because of the rain earlier in the day.”

Arch captured some great photos of the cars that ignored the rain and wet roads to turn out for Sunday’s show.

Lancaster Community Days Car Show:

Sponsored by Lacey Kraner and presented by Trident Customs, the Lancaster Community Days Car Show took over the Fairfield County Fairgrounds on Sunday.

I received these comments about the show from Dave Bratton:

"Trident Customs did a nice job organizing and running the show, which drew 75 vehicles.

In addition to the car show itself, there were plenty of other activities throughout the fairgrounds, including vendor booths selling merchandise and a large lineup of food trucks. Ralph the Lizard also made an appearance, although according to his owner, Fast Eddie, the warmer temperatures had Ralph feeling a little overheated.

The show handed out 56 awards — Top 50 plaques along with six special awards, including Best of Show. As usual, the announcer only gave the winners’ first names, so tracking down the full list of winners was nearly impossible. The Best of Show award went to a 1967 Mustang Fastback owned by Ken Farmer."

Congratulations also go out to Hi-Way Starz members John Huber, Jimmy Stevens, and Jeff Tolley, who all brought home awards from the show.

Jeff Tolley and Dave Bratton captured some awesome photos from the event.

Delaware Area Vintage Motorcycle & Coffee:

The Sunday afternoon sunshine and warmer temperatures provided the perfect excuse for motorcycle enthusiasts to get out for a ride — and maybe grab a cup of coffee along the way. Coastline Coffee in Delaware, Ohio saw a strong turnout for its weekly Motorcycle and Coffee meetup.

Despite a weekend filled with rain showers, postponed events, and wet roads, Central Ohio car and bike enthusiasts still found ways to get out and support the hobby. From laid-back cruise-ins and charity fundraisers to large club shows and community events, there was still plenty happening across the area once the weather finally began to cooperate.

This week’s shoutout for contributing photos, videos, and event coverage goes to Tim Hooten, Arch Mayer, Dave O’Brien, Jeff Tolley, Doug Glassburn, Dave Bratton, and Jason Colvin. Your contributions help make these weekly reports possible and give everyone a chance to see what’s happening around the Central Ohio car community.

Have a great week, stay safe and keep those wheels rolling.
