Upcoming Central Ohio Car Events for May 22 – 25

Here are the Central Ohio events I've been able to gather for Memorial Day weekend.

I haven't been able to confirm the show at Tee Jaye's. Events seem to pop up or get canceled as we get closer to the weekend so feel free to check back often for updates.

Update: The Show at Tee Jaye's has been canceled. Ronnie Wineka is hoping to host the show in June.

News and Notes:

The Hilton Polaris Wednesday Night Cruise which was scheduled to start this week has been postponed indefinitely. I spoke with someone from the Hilton last week and the goal is to start the cruise-ins sometime in July, however, no date has been decided. Likewise, the weekly Der Dutchman Cruise-In in Plain City slated to start May 28 has also been postponed indefinitely. Wayne Nisly, who manages the cruise-in, hopes the cruise-in can begin sometime in June.

Speaking of Plain City, it was announced on Monday that the annual downtown classic car show has been canceled for 2020. The show plans to return next year.

For an updated list of cancellations, postponements, and rescheduled events, check out the Save the Dates for 2020 page. I've been updating this page most every day.

The Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show & Cruise-In scheduled for August 20-22 is looking for the following 1970 model year cars to display in the Special Vehicle Tent:

AMC Gremlin and AMC Hornet, Ford Pinto and Ford Maverick, Chevy Monte Carlo and Chevy Vega, Datsun 240Z, Dodge Challenger, Citroen SM, Porsche 914, and IH Scout II

If you own or know someone who owns a 1970 version of any of these vehicles and would love to see it prominently displayed at the Arthritis show, please email Kevin Gadd (email@kevingadd.com) or Jeff Larger (JLarger@route36mc.com).

I often get the question from readers asking how they can get email notification when a new article is posted. The best way is to submit a comment. At the bottom of each posting is a link that will either read "Leave a comment" or list the number of comments already submitted for that particular post. Click on that link and scroll to the bottom of the page to access the "Leave a Reply" form. The form has fields for your name and email address and a checkbox labeled "Notify me of new posts by email". You only need to check the checkbox one time to join the notification list. If you're interested in getting notification, submit a simple reply saying Hi. I swear on a stack of Bibles you will NEVER receive any spam emails from this website. You'll only be notified when a new post is published.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Memorial Day weekend!

I’d rather walk naked into the ICU of a Coronavirus ward than enter the city limits of Hilliard for ANYTHING much less a cruise in. Between the overzealous paranoid roided out New Rome police transplants to the Salah Sultan Muslim Brotherhood majority you’d be taking a grossly unacceptable risk with your car, your insurance rates and your life going there. Seriously, I’d put my car on a plane and take a cruise through war torn Somalia before I crossed into Hilliard. I can’t imagine what the narcissist cops and local kangaroo court are willing to do to you right now if they a) catch you enjoying freedom inside their jurisdiction and b) look safe and white enough to fleece. Shudder.

Seriously, if you’re thinking about going into Hilliard in a sports car you might as well just burn $1500 and drive yourself to Jackson Pike.

Wow! Obviously, something really bad happened to you inside the Hilliard city limits. Feel free to elaborate, if you want. I'm kind of curious to hear what happened.

I enjoyed the Mount Victory car show on Memorial day even tho it was scaled down. Glad I went.

Hi Jim, Glad to hear you had a good time. I saw some posts on FB and everyone that went said they had fun. Mount Victory is a 48 min drive one way from my house. I just couldn't fit the trip into my schedule.
