Here are the car events this week in Central Ohio. Saturday is jam-packed with events from morning to night. Of course, the big event on the schedule is the three days Springfield Swap Meet and Car Show.
News and Notes:
Those that attended the first Der Dutchman Cruise-In of the year on Thursday evening got a little wet. While everything and everybody was still dry, Marty Ruiz managed to get in some photos from the cruise-in.
On Saturday, I stopped by the Ninja Express Car Wash Cruise-In during the afternoon and the Delaware Cruise Night that evening. Both events had good turnouts. Here's a sampling of some of the cars that made it out to each event.
This year's Grace Chapel Car Show in Westerville, Ohio registered 94 cars on Saturday. This was the best-attended show the church has ever hosted.
Best of Show went to the 1957 Ford Thunderbird belonging to Rich Robbins. Henry Ours with a 1940 Ford Panel Delivery truck received the Pastors Choice.
On a related note, Chad Schirtzinger who was the driving force behind the Hilton Polaris Tuesday Night Cruise-Ins last year has received permission from the Pastor at Grace Chapel to hold a weekly cruise-in at the church. The first cruise-in will be this Wednesday (6/24) starting at 5 PM.
For the first time this year, more events were added to the Save the Dates for 2020 page than were canceled. Check out the page for an up-to-date list of upcoming events.
BREAKING NEWS: It was just posted that the Vettes, Rods & Classics show at Creekside in Gahanna, Ohio slated for August 1st has been canceled this year. This show has been rated as one of the top car events in Central Ohio for the last three years. What a bummer!

FYI to Kim and everyone...just talked to Ronnie...ALL the Tee Jayes ( W. Broad St. , Columbus ) cruise-ins are cancelled for the rest of the year. Sad...I liked going there. Safe travels everyone.
Hi Clement, I talked to Ronnie on Sunday to confirm his show was still on for this weekend. He told me then that all the shows had been canceled for the rest of the Season. I believe he is still hosting a show at O'Reilly's on Harrisburg Pike in September. Did he mention if he was going to have any more shows besides that?
Hi, Kim. No, he didn't.....but all I asked about was the Tee Jayes shows. So , I do not know. Safe travels if you venture out this weekend.
Clement, I found the answer to my question yesterday on a flyer posted on a Facebook group. Ronnie is having monthly shows at the O'Reillys Auto Parts store on Harrisburg Pike. In case you're interested, the dates are July 19, August 16, September 13 and October 18. http://carshowtalk.com/pdf/2020/cruisinOreillysHarrisBurgPike.jpg
BTW, 200 cars showed up last evening at Der Dutchman.
Great...thx for the info , Kim. Really now ?? I knew they had it , then the rains came in like gangbusters.
The car show in Newark Ohio at the Sons of Italy just got cancelled.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, I just saw your comment. I hope there wasn't a lot of folks on their way to the show.
