It's a surprisingly full lineup for the last week of October. There are a ton of Trunk or Treat events this week. I tried to include only those that focused on classic, muscle, and performance cars.
Marysville Muscle and Honda Motorsports Bike Night will be joining forces at the Honda Motorsports lot on Friday evening in Marysville, Ohio . There will be a costume contest, 50/50 raffle and Geezers BQ on site. The combined meet is schedules from 5 PM to 7 PM.

Not much to report this week. For the first time since April, I did not attend a car show or cruise-in. If the weather cooperates, I should have big report next week.
On a somber note, Terry McReynolds passed away on Monday, October 18th. Terry was the Pace Truck Driver at Columbus Motor Speedway for more than 20 years. Recently, Terry was an integral part of the Pepsi's Auto Smarts Radio Cruise and Ride team. If you participated in one of Boots's shows this year, you most likely interacted with Terry at the registration trailer. May he R.I.P.

Empty Pockets Cruisers Trunk or Treat Car Show:
The Empty Pockets Cruisers Car Club held their 8th Annual Trunk or Treat Show on Saturday at the Hilliard Presbyterian Church in Hilliard, Ohio.
The Empty Pockets Trunk or Treat event has always been one of my favorite shows to attend. And Saturday's show was no exception. Everyone seemed to be in the Halloween spirit. It felt like more cars came decorated this year than in past years. And more folks came dressed in costumes.
Despite the early morning rain, wet roads, and cool temperatures, the show managed to register more than 140 cars.
Plaques were awarded to the Favorite 40 cars and trucks and best costumes. The special awards included Best Decorations, Sponsors Choice, Church Choice, DJs Choice, and Kids Choice.

While the Trunk or Treat show is always fun, it can also be a little bittersweet because it signals the coming end to the car show season.

Delaware Christian Church Car Show:
The Delaware Christian Church in Delaware, Ohio hosted their first-ever car show on Saturday. The Church registered around 55 cars. Registration and food were by donation. Dave Bratton, who attended the show, said there were a lot of cars he hadn't seen before. Dave participates in a lot of shows in Central Ohio so he is familiar with a lot of cars from around the area.
The Church presented spark plug trophies to their "Favorite" 15 cars along with trophies for the Best Bike and Pastor's Choice.
The Pastor's Choice award went to Cameron Striblin and his 1987 Ford F-150 Lariat. A 2021 Honda Trike received the Best Bike award.

St. Elizabeth Church Community Festival Car Show:
The St. Elizabeth Church off Sharon Woods Blvd. in Columbus, Ohio held its combined festival and car show on Sunday afternoon.
The Festival offered food and drink, games, and live music. The car show gave out dash plaques to the first 30 cars and also included a 50/50 raffle. The car show registered 60 vehicles.
The Church presented 25 Parish Awards. The special awards included a Pastor's Choice, Peoples Choice, two Parishioners Choice, and a Best of Show. In lieu of a trophy or plaque, the special award winners received a printed certificate and a $25 Walmart gift card.

Other Area Events:
Around 50 cars turned out at the Car Show for the Salvation Army Toy Drive on Saturday in Heath, Ohio. The show presented awards to the Top 20 cars. There was no Best of Show.
Saturday Nite Cruise at Nik Fixx Automotive with the C-Town Cruisers had roughly 30 cars. The Best of Show pick was a 1965 Ford Falcon convertible. I don't know the owner's name and I only have photos of the car's rear-end.
More than 50 cars showed up in Marysville, Ohio on Saturday evening for the last Mid Ohio Cruisers Cruisin' with the King show of the year. Next show will be the Snow Ball Cruise in January.
The Fourth of July Car Show at the Union County Fairgrounds was rescheduled this year from July 4th to October 16 and relabeled The Autumn Car Show. The show only attracted 22 cars on Saturday. The organizers might want to consider going back to July 4th in 2022.
About 23 cars attended the Coffee, Tea, and Autism Trunk or Treat event in Canal Winchester, Ohio on Sunday. Of course the kids picked a Cookie Monster themed car to win. Duh?

Der Dutchman Cruise-in:
Here's my final word on the Der Dutchman Cruise-in for this year. The banquet was this past Thursday. During the banquet, Wayne Nisly who manages the cruise-in pointed out that the cruise-in registered more than 2900 cars this summer. It sure has come a long way from the 18 cars that showed up the very first time I attended the cruise-in back in 2013.
Creative Automotive/Advanced Auto Parts Store:
This month's Creative Automotive/Advanced Auto Parts show in Marysville, Ohio registered 20 cars on Friday evening. The show raised $144 for the Marysville and Milford Center Food Pantries.

LaRue Fall Bang Car Show:
The town of LaRue, Ohio held its Fall Bang Festival this past Friday and Saturday. For the first time, the Festival included a car show on Friday evening. The show registered between 35 and 40 cars. The organizers hope to make it an annual event.

Performance Charity Car Show:
The Performance Charity Car Show in downtown Delaware, Ohio was originally scheduled for July 17 but because of weather forecasts calling for all-day showers (which didn't happen by the way), it was rescheduled to this past Saturday. As it turned out, it was a good call. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for a car show.
I predicted the show would be the biggest event of the weekend in Central Ohio and I was spot on. The show registered 460 cars. Counting those cars that showed up but didn't register, there were more than 500 cars during the afternoon in downtown Delaware on Saturday.
The show presented awards to the top 100 cars along with 20 Best of Show trophies. My unofficial "Early Bird" or "Are You Crazy" award goes to Sam and Barbara Parks. They arrived in the dark before Sandusky Street was even closed which was scheduled for 6 AM! The longest distance traveled was a car from South Carolina.
The Best of Show award went to Sherman and Austin Buck and their 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner:

Marysville Car Meet:
Between 75 and 80 cars showed up at the old Kroger parking lot in Marysville, Ohio for a Sunday afternoon car meet. It was definitely a younger crowd. Mustangs were the popular model of the day. There were a few Camaros and Corvettes and a couple of vehicles you don't see every day.
Other Area Shows:
The Hebron Nazarene Car and Truck Show registered 111 cars on Saturday. The 1959 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman belonging to Jesse and Kaylee Bickel took the Best of Show honors.
Seventy-six cars turned out for the Danville Memorial Park Car Show on Sunday.

The big event this week will be the Performance Charity Car Show in Downtown Delaware, Ohio on Saturday. Originally scheduled for July, the show was postponed due to weather.
I contacted the Dairy Queen in South Bloomfield, the Sonic Drive-In in Heath and the Rusty Lug Nutz group out of Pickerington. All three told me they will continue their weekly cruise-ins as long as the weather is good and cars continue to show up. All predicted they would likely finish by the end of October.

Der Dutchman:
The last cruise-in of the season at the Der Dutchman Restaurant in Plain City, Ohio set a new attendance record on Thursday. The cruise-in registered 439 cars! This broke the previous attendance record of 401 cars set back on August 20, 2020. The photo below will give you a sense of just how packed the place was Thursday evening.

Downtown Delaware First Friday:
Approximately 25-30 cars turned out for the final downtown Delaware, Ohio First Friday event of 2021. Ghostbusters appeared to be the unofficial theme of the evening.
Tolles Car and Craft Show:
The Tolles Career & Technical Center in Plain City, Ohio held their 4th Annual Car and Craft Show on Saturday.
The show registered 111 cars. Instead of dash plaques, the first 100 cars to register received a unique etched wooden plaque commemorating participation in the show.
The show presented a total of 23 awards. There were no "Favorites". Instead, each car was entered into one of 19 classes. Trophies were presented to each class winner. There was also a People's Choice award, a Best of Show award, and two special awards.
Clement Thun's 1947 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan was selected Best of Show.

Toy Barn Fall Car Show:
I registered to participate in the Toy Barn Car Show on Sunday but decided to go as a spectator due to the weather. I counted close to 70 cars and a decent number of spectators when I was there around 10 AM. Although this was a far cry from the number of cars and the crowd at the spring show back in May.

Other Area Car Shows:
The 8th Annual Mario Knapp Memorial Car Show held at Quaker Steak and Lube on Lyra Drive in Columbus, Ohio registered over 150 cars on Saturday.
Sixty-Five cars turned out for the 4th Annual BGMC Car Show at the New Beginnings Church in Columbus, Ohio
More than 160 cars participated in the Steve Austin's Auto Group Car and Truck Show in Bellefontaine, Ohio on Saturday. I received a report that the music was loud enough to cause hearing damage.
Rick Levine's 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible took Best of Show honors at the Community Christian Church Fall Craft, Vendor and Car Show.

Der Dutchman:
The unseasonably cold weather this past Thursday didn't deter 59 cars from showing up at the Der Dutchman Cruise-in in Plain City, Ohio. It was kind of weird to see everyone in long pants and coats again. Looking back, the last time coats were needed was the first cruise-in of the season back on May 3rd.
This Thursday will mark the very last Der Dutchman Cruise-In for 2021. The following week will be the banquet and then we'll have to wait until May 2022 for the weekly cruise-ins to resume again.
Marysville Muscle Cruise-In:
After Thursday's chill, the weather on Friday was just about perfect for the monthly Marysville Muscle Cruise-in at Honda Powersports in Marysville, Ohio. Chris stopped by with his 1970 Ford Torino GT, Jim drove his 800 HP Ultima RS, Ron arrived in his 1980 Z/28 Camaro, and Tim's 1968 Camaro made its return following a two year absence. Unfortunately, the food truck was a no show.
Two more cruise-ins are scheduled for the last Friday in October and November before calling it quits for the season. The weather will be the wild card for these last two meets.
Music in the Park Cruise-in Car Show:
Rained out in July, the rescheduled Music in the Park Cruise-In Car Show took place Friday evening at Stradley Park in Canal Winchester, Ohio . Hosted by the C-Town Cruisers, the event registered about 40 cars. Dale Pearce and his 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup truck received the People's Choice Award.
North Hills Car and Bike Show:
After skipping a year because of Covid, the North Hills Church of God in Springfield, Ohio resumed its annual Car and Bike Show on Sunday. The show had a record turn out with 203 registered cars and bikes . The turn out was so big, the church ran out of parking spaces and had to close registration early. Dick "Hot Dog" Ryman was the DJ.
Judging was done by everyone that registered a vehicle. If you've been a reader of this blog, you know I'm not a fan of participation judging. However, the way this show does it makes it a little more palatable. First, there is only one ballot per vehicle and the ballot has your car number on it. Second, participants can't vote for their own car, truck or bike. If they do, their entire ballot is null and void. And third, the ballots can not be turned in until after registration is closed. As with all participation judging, if you come with a club or group of friends you have a better chance of going home with an award.
Unfortunately, towards the end of the show a spectator's car pulled out of the church lot and hit an on coming car going east bound on Moorefield road. The hit spun the on coming car around 360 degrees where it hit one of the bikes parked close to the church entrance. It was a serious enough accident to require an emergency vehicle. Let's hope and pray everyone involved is okay.
Despite the commotion from the accident, the award presentation was only delayed by about 15 minutes. The Church presented awards to the Top 25 cars, the top five bikes, 10 special awards, and a Best of Show for cars and a Best of Show for Bikes.
David Salyers took the car Best of Show honors with his 1967 Pontiac GTO. David's car also received the Cook's Choice aware. The bike Best of Show went to a 1934 Harley Davidson VLD belonging to Craig Biniker.

Bill Repp and his 1972 Chevy Chevelle took Best of Show honors at the Saturday Night Cruise at Nik Fixx.
The Fire Department in Laurelville, Ohio registered 103 cars at their show on Saturday.
The Shamrock Club Classic Car and Bike Show had an excellent turn out registering 95 cars.
The 1956 Ford Parklane belonging to Kim Miklos received Best of Show at the Gahanna Community Church Car Show on Sunday. Our good friend, Dale Pearce, and his 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup took the Best Truck award.

This is the second week in a row I received an email from a reader who went to an event only to find out it was canceled. Last week it was the Cruisin' Classics Monthly Cruise-In. This week it was the Green Cables Cruise-In. I know this can be very frustrating. Groups post their show flyers all over internet but then don't post anything when they cancel. If I find out a show has been canceled, I try my best to get the word out. All we can do is ask that show organizers show some respect to the car community and let people know when their event has been canceled.

Der Dutchman:
The Der Dutchman Restaurant in Plain City, Ohio held two cruise-ins this week. Their weekly cruise-in on Thursday evening attracted 347 cars. It turned out to be a wonderful evening to hang out with friends.
Saturday morning the restaurant hosted its annual Coffee and Donuts cruise-in. More than 80 cars stopped in for a cup of coffee and a famous Der Dutchman donut. By 11 AM everyone was experiencing a pretty good sugar and caffeine buzz.

Farrow Hot Rods and Handlebars:
Saturday evening the Farrow Harley Davidson Dealership in Sunbury, Ohio hosted their second Hot Rods and Handlebars Car and Bike Show of the season. The event was sponsored by Rabid Customs, Ricart Automotive, and of course, Farrow Harley-Davidson.
The Parking lot was divided into two sections, one for the motorcycles and the other for the cars. Two food trucks and a beer garden provided refreshments. A live band (sorry, don't know the name) entertained the crowd.
Entry to the show was free for spectators and motorcycles. If you wanted your car included in the judging for a trophy, a $10 donation to charity was requested. With the $10 donation also came a 16 oz bottle of Jax Wax Hawaiian Shine, microfiber towel, and air freshener. Not a bad deal.
On the car side, there were trophies for the top 25, third and second place, and Best of Show. I believe there were three awards for the motorcycles.
The car registration forms were not numbered so I don't have an accurate count of registered cars. I'm guessing somewhere around 100 cars with another 50 that showed up but didn't register. All I can say about the bikes is there were a lot of them! I didn't spend much time in the bikes section. There was a lot to keep up with the cars. I did, however, discover (as did many others) a "Legends of Rock" themed bike that was absolutely amazing. You'll have to check it out on the show's PHOTO PAGE. Let me know how many rock legends you can name.

Coughlin Chevrolet of Pataskala Car Show:
Coughlin Chevrolet of Pataskala, Ohio held its 12th annual car show on Saturday. Advertised as "Ohio's Best Free Car Show", the event registered close to 200 cars.
The show attracted mostly Corvettes with maybe 40-50 cars being other makes and models. Trophies were presented to the Top 100 cars. There was no Best of Show award.

All Oldsmobile Car Show and Swap Meet:
On Sunday, the Mid-Ohio Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America held their 34th Annual All Oldsmobile Car Show and Swap Meet at Quaker Steak and Lube in Columbus, Ohio.
The club registered 75 Oldsmobiles. Trophies were presented to the Top 20 cars as voted on by those participating in the show.
Even though I don't own an Oldsmobile, the first car my wife and I bought as a married couple was a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme so I have a little soft spot in my heart for the brand. Unfortunately, I only saw one 1977 Cutlass. It was a 442 not a supreme.

Reports are the Jax Wax Car Show on Saturday registered close to 400 cars. Steve Andrix and his 1954 Chevy Bel Air received the Best of Show award.
The turn out for Pepsi's Auto Smarts Radio Cruise and Ride at Columbus Auto Resale on Saturday was between 50 and 60 cars.
The Cupola Classic Car Show in Johnstown, Ohio on Sunday had 160 cars in attendance.

Der Dutchman Cruise-In:
Although a drop of rain never fell on the Der Dutchman Restaurant in Plain City, Ohio Thursday evening, the weather around the area kept attendance down to 77 cars. I got caught in a downpour driving through Dublin, Ohio on my way to the cruise-in. My black Camaro needs a thorough washing this week as it's a mess.
Jay Vanscoy Car Show:
The Hilliard, Ohio Church of Christ hosted the first Annual Jay Vanscoy Car Show on Saturday. The show is a memorial to Jay Vanscoy, the son of Senior Minister Danny Vanscoy. Jay passed away in January.
The show registered 55 cars. The registration fee was $15 and included a tee-shirt, a very nice "goodie" bag, and a door prize raffle ticket.

Plain City Classic Car Cruise-In:
Chapman Ford and the Uptown Plain City Organization hosted their 18th annual Plain City Classic Car Cruise-In in downtown Plain City, Ohio Saturday afternoon.
The event registered 135 vehicles. Ribbons were presented to the Top 40 cars. There were several special award trophies and a Best of Show.
This year's Best of Show Award went to Dave and Jane Winkle and their 1958 Chevy Corvette convertible.
Krieger Ford Mustang & Ford Car Show:
The Mustang Club of Ohio and Krieger Ford held their 47th Annual ALL Mustang and Ford Car Show on Sunday at the Krieger Ford Dealership in Columbus, Ohio.
As a Camaro and Corvette owner, the hour and a half I was at the show taking photos was tough on me, but for the good of the Central Ohio car community, I managed to hang in there long enough to get some nice photos.
In all seriousness, I saw a lot of very nice cars. By my unofficial count, there were between 125 and 130 cars registered. If you're into Mustangs and Fords or just cars in general, Krieger Ford was the place to be Sunday afternoon.
There was no overall Best of Show winner. Each Mustang and Ford was entered into a class based on model year, model, and mods. Awards were presented to the top cars in each class based on points.

14th Annual Car Show at Culp Lake:
The car show at Culp Lake in Springfield, Ohio attracted 144 cars on Sunday. The show is in a park-like setting so there were plenty of trees around to escape some of the heat.

The last weekend of August has turned out to be the biggest weekend of the season when it comes to the number of events. Lots to choose from all over the Central Ohio area.
NEWS AND NOTES:
38th Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show and Cruise-in:
I spent a few hours Friday afternoon as a spectator at the 38th Annual Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show and Cruise-In in Dublin, Ohio. Friday's registration was somewhere between 330 and 350 cars. The big exhibit this year was 110 years of Chevrolet.
I managed to take more than 100 photos of some excellent rides.
The top 50 cars on Friday received six-foot trophies. Dave Bratton and Lou Koester received a special award for their financial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation.

Westerville Cars & Coffee with Jake from State Farm:
Saturday morning I headed over to Westerville, Ohio for Westerville Cars & Coffee with Jake from State Farm. This is the second year State Farm agent, Jake Breakey, has been hosting a Saturday morning cruise-in in the parking lot behind his agency. Anyone that brought a car could enjoy a cup of coffee, donuts, and a chance to spin the wheel for prizes. It turned out to be a great way to spend a Saturday morning. My only disappointment was Jake wasn't wearing khakis. He was wearing shorts.
Cruisin' with the King:
The Mid Ohio Cruisers Car Club registered 53 cars Saturday evening at their monthly show at the Burger King in Marysville, Ohio. The club presented awards to their favorite 15 vehicles.

Meet at the Beach 2:
Sunday afternoon the south end of the Alum Creek Beach parking lot was the scene of the second Meet at the Beach car meet this season. The majority of owners of the estimated 100 plus cars that turned out during the afternoon were definitely under the age of 30.
The Japanese car manufacturers were very well represented. For a little while, my Camaro and a Jeep were the only cars from American manufacturers. A Mclaren, Lamborghini, and a few classics cars cruised through the parking lot but none stayed very long.
Looking through a crystal ball this will likely be the next generation of car show enthusiasts 20-30 years from now. They'll be showing off their restored 2015 Subaru or Toyota instead of a '69 Camaro.

Der Dutchman:
The 40 cars or so that showed up at Der Dutchman on Thursday evening were treated to a 20 minutes downpour around 5 PM. With more rain threatening the area, the raffle drawing started at 6 PM instead of the usual 7:30 PM.
Creative Automotive/Advanced Auto Parts Show:
A Camaro and a Mustang received awards Friday evening at the monthly Creative Automotive/Advance Auto Parts Show in Marysville, Ohio. The show raised $45 for the Milford Center Trinity Chapel Food Pantry.
Buckeye Cruzin':
On Saturday, more than 125 vehicles registered for Buckeye Cruzin' at Ohio Stadium. Registration was $175. All of it went to Buckeye Cruise for Cancer - a very worthy cause as almost everyone has had cancer touch someone in their family.
Every car that registered got a photo taken of it in front of the rotunda on the north end of the stadium. Registrants were treated to a VIP breakfast provided by Porsche Columbus. There were several food trucks and a refueling station to keep everyone fed and hydrated.
The Triple F brought an assortment of exotic cars from their collection. I got to see a Pagani Huayra BC Macchina Volante in person. Say that five times in a row fast. Only 20 of them were produced at a selling price of $2.6 million each.
It was a great experience until several cars decided to rev engines. It's one thing to do a couple of quick revs but to continue it for 20+ minutes is a little much. One of the cars was behind my Corvette so every time the engine revved it blew black smoke at my car. I finally had enough and left. I hope the organizers put a stop to the revving next year. I will certainly point it out to them should I get the opportunity to do a post-event evaluation. Tell me what you think in the comments. Am I being too much of a "Debbie Downer" or does engine revving at car events annoy you too?

Blendon Senior Center Car Show:
The Blendon Senior Center in Westerville, Ohio registered 76 cars for their show on Saturday. Food and refreshments were included in the cost of registration. Awards were presented to the top three vehicles in each of five categories - the 1940s and older, the 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s, and the 1980s and newer.
Our friend, Dave Bratton, and his 1937 Ford convertible received the Best of Show award. Not only did Dave get a trophy but he also received a cash prize as well.

2021 Tomatofest Car Meet:
More than 120 cars turned out for the Tomatofest Car Meet at Huber park on Saturday. The show, hosted by the C-Town Cruisers, was part of the 2021 Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival.
David Oiler took Best of Show honors with a 1935 Chevy Master Deluxe. The Best Truck award went to Josh Hiles with a 1968 Chevy C-10.
Obetz Nazarene Church Car Show:
Dan "Boots" Longenette and Pepsi's Auto Smarts Radio Cruise and Ride Tour made a stop at the Obetz Nazarene Church on Saturday. The show registered approximately 50 cars and raised $600 for the church.
The Pastor's Choice/Best of Show award went to Brian Spangler and his 1956 Mercury Montclair.
Cars and Cones Ice Cream Cruise-in:
Fifty plus cars showed up Sunday afternoon in the parking lot behind the Coldstone Creamy on Polaris Parkway in Columbus, Ohio. Everyone enjoyed the comradery with friends, the cooler temperatures, and of course, the ice cream.
Cruis'in O'Reilly Auto Parts at Harrisburg Pike:
Ron Wineka and The Pasttime Cruisers hosted their monthly show at the O'Reilly Auto Parts store on Harrisburg Pike in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday. Forty-Four cars attended the show. Dale Pearce and his "Ole Blue" 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup truck received the Manager's Choice award. It was a good weekend for our friends and awards.
Dan Emmett Car Show:
Shame on me, I missed an event last week. The Dan Emmett Car Show, part of the Mount Vernon, Music and Arts Festival took place on Sunday. I didn't see any advertisement for this event on Facebook or any of my other sources for car show information.
Despite an apparent lack of advertising, 120 cars knew about the event. There was no registration, judging, or awards. The organizers blamed Covid and said they hope to return to a normal car show next year. Here are some photos from the event.
Vettes, Rods, and Classics Car Show Update:
I received an email last week from Bill Boyd of the Capital City Corvette Club. Bill had some updated numbers regarding the Vettes, Rods, and Classics Car Show in Gahanna, Ohio.
There were 298 registered cars, however, 336 cars actually paid through the gate. The hot rods and classics outnumbered the Corvettes by 5%. Goes to show how well I can estimate. The Best of Show trophies were hand-delivered to the winners. All other award winners were personally called and the club was back at Creekside on Saturday to give out the remaining awards. Of course, all the proceeds from the show went to Nationwide Children's Hospital.

2008 Dodge Viper Convertible Owners: Bill & Carol Chandler
Mopar fans and their hemi engines will be invading Hebron, Ohio this weekend for the 40th Annual Mopar Nationals. If you're a Volkswagon aficionado there's the Volkfest Car Show and Swap Meet on Saturday in Pataskala, Ohio. And if you're into tomatoes, well, the 2021 Tomatofest Car Meet in Reynoldsburg, Ohio should be right up your alley.

Der Dutchman:
The Der Dutchman cruise-in in Plain City, Ohio returned to form this past Thursday with more than 300 cars in attendance. For some unexplained reason, I photographed a lot of makes and models in pairs this week.
Hosanna Lutheran Church Car Show:
The 8th Annual Hosanna Lutheran Church Car Show in Pataskala, Ohio registered 89 cars on Friday evening. The Church presented awards to the Top 30 cars, a People's Choice award, and Best of Show. Judging was done on a points system.
The People's Choice Award went to Emma Leigh with a 1956 Mercury Monterey. Larry Steffey and his 2013 Roush Stage 3 Mustang took the Best of Show honors.

Karting Classic Car, Truck & Bike Show:
The Commercial Point, Ohio Karting Classic 4th Annual Car, Truck, & Bike Show registered around 130 cars on Friday. From the report I got, the show had a bigger turnout than expected. Looks like the organizers had some pretty nice trophies to present. To see more from the Karting Classic show, click here.
Richwood Bank Cruise-In:
The Richwood Bank in Delaware, Ohio hosted their second cruise-in of the season this past weekend. Thirty-two cars turned out for the Saturday morning affair. There were raffle prizes and coffee shop specials for anyone who registered a car. Joey Gill from Chesrown Chevrolet, Buick, GMC brought over a brand new 2021 mid-engine Corvette Convertible for display.
The bank plans to host another cruise-in the first Saturday in September and possibly a Halloween-themed cruise-in in October weather permitting.
Vettes, Rods and Classics Car Show:
After a one-year hiatus because of Covid, The Capital City Corvette Club returned to the Creekside district in Gahanna, Ohio on Saturday with their Vettes, Rods, and Classics Car Show. The show registered 298 cars. Thirteen short of the previous attendance record. From my casual observation as a spectator, it looked like the number of rods and classics were down a bit from previous years. There were definitely a lot of Corvettes!
Because of the threat of severe thunderstorms in the area, the awards presentation started around 4 PM instead of 5 PM as planned. I stuck around until the thunder and lightning started and then got out of there ASAP so I wasn't around for the Best of Show announcements. I found out later that no one else was around for the BOS announcements either because as they started announcing the C5 Corvette awards the monsoon rain started.
The winners are supposed to be posted to the Capital City Corvette Club's website. As of this writing, nothing has been posted. I'll post a link to the award winners as soon as it becomes available.
I did manage to get a photo of one award winner before the skies opened up. David Zitko and his 1971 Chevy Chevelle received the Gahanna Police Department Car Award.
The Best of Show award for the Rods and Classics went to Kevin Foust and his 1941 Dodge Wc40 Military Weapon Carrier. Paul and Kelly Beck and their 1966 Corvette convertible received the Best of Show for the Vettes.

Honor Flight/Vance Outdoors Car Show:
The Honor Flight/Vance Outdoors Show hosted by Pepsi's Auto Smarts Radio Cruise and Ride crew registered 148 cars on Saturday. The show raised $95,000 for Honor Flight. Word has it Boots cut off his beard for charity.
The Best of Show award went to the 1930 Ford Five Window Pickup Truck belonging to Ralph Carle.

Powell Sertoma Cruise-In and Pig Out:
The Powell Sertoma Cruise-In and Pig Out Car Show returned back to the streets of downtown Powell, Ohio on Sunday. The show registered more than 140 cars. The Best of Show award went to Brett Gearhart and his 1967 Chevy Nova SS.

Other Area Shows:
The Baltimore Ohio Festival Cruise-In registered 140 cars on Friday evening. Tom Stewart and his 1982 "Orange Crush" Chevy C-10 pickup received the Best Truck Award.
Dale Pearce and his 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup took Best of Show honors at the Amvets Post 1776 Red, White & Cruise Show in Logan, Ohio on Saturday.
The Hartford Fair Car Show in Croton, Ohio attracted 169 cars on Sunday. Dawayne Noble's Volkswagon received the Best of Show award.
