Here’s this weekend’s list of Central Ohio car events. Saturday has a selection of events to cover the entire day. Lets pray for decent weather.
NEWS AND NOTES:
As most of you may already know by now, Governor DeWine has closed the Ohio State Fair to the public over continued pandemic concerns. What impact this will have on the Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals scheduled for July 9 - 11 is anyone’s guess. Don’t be surprised if the event is canceled for a second year in a row. I will post updates on its status as soon as they are announced.
Here are the events for this week. By my count, there are only four more weekends left in the season.
Ohio State finally begins its Covid shortened football season this Saturday. Hopefully, we’ll have something to look forward to when car shows officially end for this year.
News and Notes:
Road Ready Window Tinting and Clear Bra held there first ever Cars and Cream Puffs cruise-in on Saturday. I counted a little more than 40 cars during the time I was there. Schmidt’s was there selling their famous Bahama Mamas and cream puffs.
Since Road Ready is located in Plain City, it was natural that a few cars that regularly attend the Der Dutchman Cruise-Ins would stop by.
This weekend saw a rare back-to-back Best of Show winner. This 1932 Hurst Kit car (sorry, don’t have the owners name) took the top award at the The Point on Main Spooktackular Show on Saturday and the Whitehall VFW 8794 Car Meet on Sunday.
I added a couple events last week to the Save the Dates for 2020 page. Check out this page for the list of events through the remainder of the season.
Here are the Central Ohio car events for this week.
The Canal Events Center in Canal Winchester changed up their schedule this past week. The Friday night cruise-in has been moved to Sunday afternoons and the Wednesday night Bike & Sights moved to Friday.
Not sure what the plans are for the Mid Ohio Cruisers and their show this month at Burger King. I'll update this post as soon as I have any information.
News and Notes:
In case you haven't heard, Der Dutchman set a new attendance record last Thursday with 327 cars. The previous attendance record was 243 vehicles set on September 12th of last year.
The Empty Pockets Cruisers had their best attendance for their rescheduled Armed Forces show. They registered 189 cars on Saturday. Kevin Foust took the Best of Show honors.
And Finally, Big Dawg and the C-Town Cruisers registered 58 cars at the Sunday Cruisin' at the Point on Main show. Congrats to Joe Messano and his 1966 Mustang Fastback for picking up the Best of Show award.
The Save the Dates for 2020 page is still be updated regularly. I added a few events as well as deleted a few events this week.
