So everyone can get a jump planning their 2021 Central Ohio car show and cruise-in schedule, here is the Save the Dates for 2021 as promised.

Count on this post being updated regularly over the next eight to nine months as more events are announced. Please feel free to check back often or better yet bookmark this page. I expect a jam packed season of Central Ohio car events.

Here are a few things to note about this season’s schedule:

  1. The Der Dutchman Restaurant in Plain City plans to start their weekly cruise-ins the first Thursday in May this year instead of the third Thursday as in past years.
  2. A new car community called Marysville Muscle will be hosting monthly cruise-ins at Honda Powersports in Marysville.
  3. Doreen Baker in conjuction with Tony’s Bar and Grill in london, Ohio has plans to host a show almost every month.
  4. Instead of a separate post for swap meets, they’ve been incorporated in this Save the Dates post.

For those of you new to the web site, the primary focus of carshowtalk.com is car events in and around Central Ohio. If you’re interested in events in other parts of the state, I recommend checking out OhioCarShow.com, Ohio Car shows & Cruise-Ins (both are on Facebook), and Old Ride.com. All three are excellent resources for car events statewide.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

Unfortunately, Covid-19 will still be with us this season. Some events will likely be canceled or postponed (the Spring Fling Corvette Show has already been canceled). I will do my best to update this page with cancelations and postponements as soon as I find out about them. I would strongly recommend calling the listed contact number before heading out to any event.

Not much on the agenda for this coming weekend. Most everything has been canceled. I've reached out to both the RoundTown Cruisers and Boy Scout Troop 382 to confirm the status of their events. As of this posting, neither organization has gotten back to me.

UPDATE: Contacted the president of the Roundtown Cruisers. Their cruise-in for this Friday has been canceled.

News and Notes:

This past weekend saw the return of a couple of "traditional" car events. I stopped by the Marysville Car Meet on Sunday. I estimate somewhere between 150 and 200 vehicles showed up during the afternoon. Here are some of the photos I took at the meet.

Big Dawg and the C-Town Cruisers hosted their first show of the season at the Point On Main Street Sports Bar & Grill. The show registered 78 cars, however, more than 100 cars turned out for the event. Best of Show went to Steve Beal and his 1951 Chevy Suburban.

On the way home from Marysville, I happened to drive by some members of the AMMO (All Modern Mopars of Ohio) who were having a "mini cruise-in" at the LaScala Restaurant on 161. The club members had just finished participating in a graduation cruise. I took a few minutes to stop and introduce myself.

Goodguy PPG Nations: With the 2020 Ohio State Fair officially canceled, I called Goodguys last week for an update on the status of the PPG Nationals. The woman I spoke to stated that as of this time the event is still on. She said contractually the Ohio Expo Center must give Goodguys 30 days notice if they cannot host the event at the Fairgrounds. I was told to check back again around June 10th for a more definitive answer on the status of the event.

A few events were added this week to the Save the Dates for 2020 page. Check out this page for an updated list of future events, cancellations, and postponements.

Here are the Central Ohio events I've found for this last weekend in May.

Even though it's still listed on Old Ride, I can confirm the Cruising To The Point Show Presented by Auto Smarts Radio has been canceled. The same goes for the S.A.L Spring Fling and Bike Rally in Lancaster.

If this past weekend is an omen for how the rest of the season is going to go, I strongly recommend checking back here often. There were events canceled right before and during the weekend. There were events that changed dates then changed back again, and there were events announced with less than 24 hours notice. By Memorial day my head was spinning trying to keep up with all the changes.

News and Notes:

The 2020 London Strawberry Festival was officially canceled last Thursday. The annual Cobra show that coincides with the festival was canceled a few weeks earlier. The fate of the Strawberry Festival Car and Motorcycle show is still up in the air. As of now, the plan is to still have the show although the location may change. Stay tuned for more info.

In a sign the season may be returning to some level of normality, four events were announced over the weekend. These include:

For a list of future events, cancellations, and postponements, check out the Save the Dates for 2020 page. The page is being updated almost every day.

Update: Marty Ruiz was kind enough to send the link to the photos he took at the "unofficial" Mount Victory car show on Memorial Day. Marty guessed about 80 cars showed up to support the local shops.

More cruises for this weekend. There are a couple of cruise-ins I haven't been able to confirm their status -- the "Catch Up Drag Ass Meet" in Heath and the First Friday Cruise-in in Delaware. I will post updates regarding these two events as soon as I receive any.
