NEWS AND NOTES
The remanents of hurricane/tropical storm Helena postponed five shows and canceled another five this past weekend. That's the most cancellations and postponements I can remember in one weekend since starting this website in 2017. I know the weather was disappointing but we badly needed the rain.
Der Dutchman Cruise-In:
One of the few shows that stayed dry this week was the final Der Dutchman cruise-in of the year. Attendance for the final cruise-in reached 354 vehicles.

As usual, some interesting vehicles showed up during the evening.
One was this C8 Corvette Stingray that had just returned from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering after a second round of engine modifications. The first round was the addition of a supercharger that took the stock LT2 engine from 495 HP up to 700 HP. The second round was a rebuild of the engine internals which now has it making around 900 HP.

This Subaru Baja with an LS engine swap was another unusual vehicle.

The final interesting/unusual vehicle from the evening was this rare black-on-black 5th generation Dodge Viper ACR. This is one of only 986 ACRs built for the 2016 - 2017 model years.

Sadly, we'll have to wait until next May to see more rare and unusual vehicles at Der Dutchman.
The end-of-the-season banquet is this Thursday. After that, we'll have to find something else to do to occupy our Thursday evenings until next spring.
Laurelville Car Show & Fish Fry:
Despite the weather forecast, the 6th Annual Laureville Fire Department Car Show and Fish Fry took place on Saturday as scheduled.
Only 27 cars and one motorcycle braved the wet conditions to attend the show.

The good news is everyone that who attended went home a winner.

Here are the Best Chevy, Ford, and Mopar winners:

James Dean and Ducktail Runs:
The weather wasn't much better in Fairmont and Gas City, Indiana this past weekend but it didn't deter the James Dean and Ducktail Runs from going on as scheduled.
Jeff and Pam Shankle made their yearly trip over to Indiana to participate in both events. I thought I'd share some of Jeff's photos since we're a little light on content this week.
That's it for this week - short and sweet thanks to the weather.
I want to thank the following people for their contribution.
- Jeff Shankle
- Jeff Tolley
- Doug Glassburn
I can't say enough how much I appreciate the help the Central Ohio car community provides in putting together these reports each week. I couldn't do it without the community's help.
Stay safe out there. I hope to see you at a future car show or cruise-in.
