NEWS AND NOTES

For the first time in three months, I stayed home on Saturday. I enjoyed the day with my Grandson and watched a little football. Sunday, however, was a different story.

The Unveiling

The first stop on Sunday was Esoteric Fine Auto Finishing in New Albany, Ohio for the unveiling of the Triple F Collection's newest hypercar, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport.

The unveiling took place from 11 AM to 2 PM. I arrived shortly before 1 PM and the crowd was quite manageable. No idea how crazy it was or wasn't at 11 AM.

Here are a few of the Super Sport's specs:

  • 8.0-liter 16-cylinder hand-crafted engine
  • 4 turbochargers
  • 18 PSI maximum turbo boost
  • 7100 rpm redline
  • 1,600 horsepower
  • A maximum speed of up to 273 mph
  • Pricing starts at $4 million

Bugatti plans to build only 60 Super Sports so you might want to order yours now!

The Triple F Collection had a few of its other cars on display. All told I estimated there was about $20 million worth of cars at Esoteric.

Lancaster Car Scene Car-Toberfest

From Esoteric it was off to Outerbelt Brewing in Caroll, Ohio for the Lancaster Car Scene Car-toberfest Car Show.

The event was spread out over the parking lots of Outerbelt Brewing and the Tractor Supply Company (TSC).

Registration was $15 which included a door prize ticket. There was also a 50/50 raffle. Those that parked in the Outerbelt Brewing lot could get food and a craft beer inside the taproom. A food truck was available for those that parked at TSC and didn't want to make the walk to the taproom.

The show registered 142 vehicles with another 30-40 attending that didn't register.

Trophies were presented to the Top 50 cars, trucks, and bikes along with seven "Best Of" category awards and a Best of Show.

The Best of Show honors went to Bob Kraft with a 1955 Chevy 210.

Baltimore Masonic Lodge #475 Car Show

Earlier in the day on Sunday, Big Dawg and the C-Town Cruisers hosted a Car Show for the Masonic Lodge #475 in Baltimore, Ohio. The actual show location was the Baltimore VFW Post 3761.

The show registered 84 cars. A total of 35 trophies were presented at the end of the show.

The Best of Show award went to the 1968 Plymouth Fury III owned by Joe Warner.

Other Area Shows

  • The Western Ohio Cars N Scouts Show in Enon, Ohio had more than 80 cars in attendance on Saturday.
  • Jax Wax held its Street Madness Halloween Edition at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio on Saturday evening. For the first time at a Street Madness event, Jax Wax presented three custom trophies. The trophies were for Best "Old School", Best "New School", and Best Truck. Our good friend, Dale Pearce, and his 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup received the Best Truck trophy.

Special thanks to Jeff Shankle, Dale Pearce, and Dave Bratton for their help in preparing this week's report.
