NEWS AND NOTES
Boston's Fundraiser & Car Show:
The Marysville, Ohio, Fire Prevention Association partnered with Boston’s Restaurant in Marysville to host a fundraiser and car show on Tuesday evening.

With temperatures in the mid-90s and a heat index topping 100 degrees, turnout was understandably light—just 13 cars participated. There was no registration fee, but attendees were encouraged to bring a new smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector to donate.
Several buckets of car care products were raffled off throughout the evening, along with a 50/50 drawing. At the end of the event, the restaurant presented 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place award plaques.
Here are the vehicles that received awards:

Der Dutchman Cruise-In:
With severe thunderstorm warnings across the area Thursday afternoon, attendance was understandably light at the Der Dutchman Cruise-In. Only 45 cars turned out, but two of them were first-time visitors.
Staying true to the weekly theme of unique and unusual cars, this newer Volkswagen Beetle with a highly customized exterior paint job made an appearance.

Honda Marysville Motorsports Bike & Car Night Meetup:
Despite hot and humid conditions on Friday evening, Honda Marysville Motorsports hosted its June Bike & Car Night Meetup. Close to 20 cars and a similar number of motorcycles filled the lot.

Attendees were treated to complimentary food, courtesy of Honda Marysville Motorsports, with meals served from The Triple P Barbeque Co. food truck. Adult beverages were also available for purchase. All proceeds from the event benefit Impact 60.

For motorcycle owners, a highlight of the evening was the opportunity to have their bike dyno’d inside the dealership.

The evening offered a great mix of food, horsepower, and camaraderie for both car and bike enthusiasts.
Prairie Township Fire Department Cruise-In:
A heavy rain shower partway through the evening didn’t deter 100 cars from registering for the Annual Prairie Township Cruise-In on Friday night.
Awards wrapped up the show with 40 “Favorite” trophies and eight “Specialty” awards.
Kevin Martin’s 1962 Chevy pickup earned Best Interior, while Doug Glassburn’s 1972 Chevy C-10 pickup was chosen for the Chief’s Award by the Prairie Township Fire Chief.

Russ Annis and Arch Mayer were also among the evening’s Favorite 40 winners.
Java Drive-In Car Show:
The Tri-Village Christian Church in Pataskala, Ohio hosted its 2nd Annual Java Drive-In Car Show on Saturday morning.

Despite some early morning rain showers in and around Pataskala, 23 vehicles turned out for the event. There was no registration fee, and the church offered a total of 25 awards. Trophies were divided between two main classes: the Top 10 for vehicles 1995 and older, and another Top 10 for vehicles 1996 and newer. Specialty Awards included Kids Choice, Adults Choice, Participants Choice, Pastor’s Choice, and Best of Show.

One of the standout vehicles was a rare 1956 Continental Mark II. It was the first time many of us—including myself—had ever seen one in person.

Specialty Award Winners:

Tim Raines’ 1951 Ford F-1 Pickup took home Best of Show honors.

Overall, it was a relaxed and enjoyable morning of cars, coffee, and community despite the damp start.
Cars, Coffee and Copters:
Marysville, Ohio was the place to be Saturday for anyone into cars, coffee, and helicopters.
The morning kicked off with Marysville Cars and Coffee at C&N Motors starting at 9 AM. Roughly 70 cars rolled through during the two-hour gathering.
The action continued with the 2nd Annual Cars and Copters at Scotts Miracle-Gro. This event, which was the most popular stop on last year’s Columbus Cars & Coffee schedule, featured a car meet in the parking lot and a helicopter show in the backyard of Scotts.
Estimated attendance topped 300 cars, making it one of, if not the largest event of the weekend in Central Ohio.
Special thanks to Jeff Shankle for sharing his photos from both events.
Fathers Day Classic Car Show:
The Independent Fairgrounds in Richwood, Ohio, was the site of the 1st Annual Father’s Day Classic Car Show (a few weeks late, but worth the wait).
There was no registration fee to show off your classic ride, and the event drew 24 cars.
Judging was done by People’s Choice, with Rob Goddard’s 1969 Camaro chosen as Best of Show.

Here’s a look at some of the other cars that attended the Father’s Day Show.
Loser Racing Car + Bike Show:
The Loser Racing Club hosted a car show on Saturday at the Moose Lodge 1444 in Columbus, Ohio. Proceeds from the event benefited a young child named AJ, who is currently battling leukemia.
The show attracted 55 entries. Awards were handed out for the Top 50 and Best of Show. A few participants left before the awards ceremony, so nearly everyone who stayed went home with a Top 50 trophy—except, of course, the Best of Show winner. In a fun and quirky twist, the club announced the Best of Show before reading off the Top 50 list.

One of the most special moments of the day was AJ’s Pick. AJ personally chose Doug Glassburn’s 1972 Chevy C-10 Stepside pickup for the honor, and Doug was both surprised and deeply touched by the recognition.

Here are a few more photos Doug Glassburn shared from the show.
The Best of Show award was presented to James Dillard for his beautifully restored 1935 Ford Coupe.

SVG Dealership Car Show:
The SVG Chevrolet/GMC Dealership in Washington Court House, Ohio hosted its annual car show on Saturday.
Scott Harrington was one of the last to register, taking the 60th spot—so we know there were at least 60 vehicles in attendance.
Awards included a Top 10, several specialty picks chosen by the dealership and the benefiting charity, plus an overall Best of Show.
The 50/50 winner took home $125, and dozens of great door prizes were handed out throughout the afternoon.
It was definitely hot out on the asphalt, but thanks to the great venue accommodations, it was an enjoyable day for both participants and spectators.
Here are a few photos Scott took at the show.
Revved Up Fun Car Show:
Revved Up Fun Events returned to the O’Reilly Auto Parts store on Harrisburg Pike in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday to host its third car show of the season.

Registration was $10 and included one door prize ticket, with additional tickets available for purchase. Along with door prizes, the event featured a 50/50 raffle to keep things exciting. The Big Back food truck was on site serving up smash burgers, loaded fries, and beef dogs to satisfy hungry attendees.

The show registered 26 cars and two motorcycles. There were 15 3D-printed “Favorite” awards, but only 12 were presented at the end of the event. There was no Best of Show. The awards were handed out early due to the threat of showers expected to arrive around 3 PM.

Here are the 11 cars and one motorcycle that took home “Favorite” awards at this month’s show.
Despite the hot and humid conditions, it was another enjoyable afternoon filled with classic cars, prize drawings, and great food.
Columbus Grove City Elks Classic Car & Bike Show:
The Elks hosted a well-run car show with a great turnout and an even better breakfast. For just $10, guests enjoyed a hearty meal of sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs, potatoes, coffee, and orange juice—very tasty and a great value.

A total of 63 cars were registered for the show. Awards included a Top 20, plus Best Bike and Best Car honors. Best Bike went to Robert Harris with his 2018 CanAm trike, while Best of Show Car went to David Anderson for his beautifully restored 1949 Ford Convertible.

The event wrapped up a bit earlier than planned due to the threat of rain, but not before everyone had a chance to enjoy the cars, the food, and the hospitality.
Here are a few more cool rides from the show, thanks to photos shared by Dave Bratton and Doug Glassburn.
Pistons & Pizza Car Show:
Vicario’s Pizza & Pasta in Bellefontaine, Ohio, hosted the Pistons & Pizza Car Show on Sunday. Forty-nine vehicles took advantage of the free registration to participate in the event. Two lucky attendees won $50 Vicario’s gift cards, redeemable at any of the restaurant’s four locations. At the conclusion of the show, five car awards were presented.
Here’s a look at some of the cars that were in attendance:
Other Area Shows:
- The Grace Community Fellowship in Radnor, Ohio hosted its annual Country BBQ Fun Fair and Car Show on Sunday. The event drew 30 cars, with all proceeds benefiting the Fellowship’s Costa Rica Mission Team. Five awards were presented, though two of the winners left before the ceremony. The food was a definite highlight, with many attendees raving about how good it was!

- The Newark, Ohio Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 387 hosted a benefit car show on Sunday in support of Victor (Nick) Cunningham. The event, sponsored by the C-Town Cruisers, drew an impressive turnout with 89 vehicles registered. Dale Pearce earned a Top 40 award with his 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup, while Jeff Tolley’s Henry J took home the Best MOPO/Rat Rod award.

The Hi-Way Starz had a strong showing, with several other members picking up awards of their own.

- The Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster, Ohio, was the site of the 38th Annual Earth Angel Super Cruise-In on Saturday. Approximately 150 vehicles filled the grounds, showcasing a wide variety of cars, trucks, and Corvettes. Entries were divided into three classes, with awards presented to the Top 80. Among those recognized were Dave O’Brien and Wayne Scott, who both took home Top 80 awards.

Whew! There were a lot of events to report on this week. I’m looking forward to a slightly lighter schedule in the coming week.
I want to give special thanks to Dale Pearce, Jeff Shankle, Jeff Tolley, Dave Bratton, Russ Annis, Doug Glassburn, Wayne Scott, Robert Hettinger, Greg Rittenhouse, and Scott Harrington for contributing their photos and write-ups for this report.
Stay safe, stay cool, and we’ll see you at the next show!

Hi friends, My name is Zach Pinney, producer at Abercrombie + Fitch home office in New Albany. We have a photo shoot coming up on July 10th and are looking for a classic/vintage muscle car for our shoot. I am reaching out to see if you all would be able to point me in the right direction. We are searching for the “classic” look of a GTO, Camaro, Charger, Barracuda, etc.
We originally had a Silver 69 Camaro scheduled for this day, but unfortunately the owner will not be able to make this day work anymore. Let me know if you have anyone I could ask about renting a vehicle for (1) day. Compensation and Insurance through Abercrombie provided. Thanks so much, talk soon!
Best,
-Zach
