NEWS AND NOTES
Groovy Plants Ranch's Groovy Jack's Classic Car Cruise-In:
The Groovy Plants Ranch in Marengo, Ohio, hosted its third and final Cruise-In/Car Show of the season on Saturday, and it went out with a bang!

The event had a fun Trunk or Treat atmosphere, with plenty of kids dressed up in Halloween costumes and cars decked out in spooky style.

The first 100 participants received a commemorative dash plaque, while Bushel and Bean kept everyone warm with hot beverages throughout the day.

A food truck served up delicious BBQ that kept the crowd satisfied as they browsed the lineup.
This final show set a new attendance record with 115 cars on display. At the end of the afternoon, The Groovy Plants Ranch handed out six awards recognizing creativity, style, and Halloween spirit:

Honorable Mention: 1959 Cadillac - Shawn Landell

Best Decoration: 2023 Ford Bronco Wildtrak - Sandy Littleton

Scariest Ride: 2023 Ford Bronco - Corey Dormaier

Grooviest Ride: 1966 Volkswagen Sundial - Donald & Molly Lanigan

Kid’s Choice: 1926 Dodge Brothers - Sean Catalogna

Creepiest Ride: 1979 Dodge Steetvan - Tim & Anise Palko

Here are more rides from the cruise-in:
American Legion Canteen Post #144 Halloween Car Show:
Shaun “Big Dawg” Sanders and the C-Town Cruisers were back at the American Legion Canteen Post #144 on Sunday for their annual Halloween Car Show.

The place had a great vibe with both kids and adults really getting into the Halloween spirit. There were hayrides, buckets of candy, and the Legion put out a nice buffet inside for anyone who dropped a donation in the jar.

About 50 vehicles showed up for the show, with awards going to the Top 30 and Best of Show. The Halloween-themed awards added some extra fun to the mix.

The Best Dressed Car went to James Ramey with his 1987 Chevy Square Body, cleverly decorated as Bob’s Burgers Stand.

A darling little ballerina twirled her way to the Best Dressed Kid award.

The crowd voted Mario as the Best Dressed Adult.

No one brought a pet this year, so the Best Dressed Pet award will have to wait until next Halloween even though one of the participants tried her best to imitate a dog!

Ray Leopard's 1976 Oldsmobile 442 took home the prized Best of Show Award.

Here's the rest of the cool rides that turned out for the show and brought the Halloween spirit.
Can’t think of a better way to spend a fall afternoon — good cars, good food, and plenty of Halloween fun.
Trunk or Treat RevvedUp Fun Car show @ O'Reilly's Auto Parts:
RevvedUp Fun Events brought the Halloween spirit to O’Reilly Auto Parts on Harrisburg Pike in Columbus with their Trunk or Treat car show on Sunday.
About 30 vehicles turned out for the event, which featured candy for the kids, raffles, a 50/50 drawing, costumes, loud music, and a food truck to keep everyone fueled up.

Awards included Top 14 along with a Manager’s Pick, which went to Jeff Ward’s 2002 Chevy S-10 lowrider pickup.

Winners took home some unique 3-D printed trophies that got plenty of attention. It was a fun mix of cars, costumes, and community.

Other Area Shows:
- Hi-Way Starz members Roy Frazier and Bubba Hettinger both took home awards on Saturday at The Newark Hub Guitar & Car Show in Newark, Ohio.

- Trunk or Treat vibes were definitely in the air Sunday morning at the Licking County Cars and Coffee meet at the Courthouse in Newark, Ohio. Bubba Hettinger was on hand capturing plenty of great photos of the cars and the trick-or-treaters who came out for the event.
That’s a wrap for this week’s News and Notes! The last event list of 2025 is in the books, but don’t go anywhere—we’ve got one more report and a final season recap still to come!
Before I go, Jay McAllister sent me this message.
Hi Kim,
I am hoping you can help me with something. The organizer of the Hilliard Veteran's Day parade is begging me to help put together as many classic/collector cars as possible to be in their parade. The details are simple. Be at the Hilliard Fairgrounds by 12:30 on November 2nd for staging. They ask that each car have something patriotic. That could be as simple as a flag or even a veteran riding in the car. It is tradition to throw candy out to the kids lining the parade route so they should bring lots.
It would be nice if they emailed me to let me know how many to expect. The website (https://www.destinationhilliard.org/event/hilliard-veterans-day-parade) is the Hilliard page with the flyer for the parade.
Thank you for any help you can give.

Big thanks to this week’s contributors, Bubba Hettinger and Tim Hooten, for helping capture the cars, the fun, and all the Halloween action!
