Performance Charity Car Show and Hebron Nazarene Car & Truck Show:
Thanks in part to the beautiful weather Saturday, two of the biggest events of the day were the Performance Charity Car Show in downtown Delaware, Ohio, and the Hebron Nazarene Church Car & Truck Show in Hebron, Ohio.

Had the City of Delaware not imposed a 500-car limit, the Performance Charity Show would have easily exceeded that number. Attendance at the Hebron Nazarene event was smaller but still impressive, drawing 162 vehicles for a great afternoon of cars, community, and fellowship.
Some of the Performance Charity Car Show winners included Bryan Mauger, who earned a Top 100 award with his 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo.

Chris Kraner’s 1970 Ford Torino GT took home Best in Show – Ford, while Doug Glassburn’s 1972 Chevy C-10 Stepside was named Best in Show – Truck.

Another Top 100 award went to Rusty Blades and his numbers-matching 1963 split-window Corvette. This was Rusty’s first Central Ohio car event with the Corvette.

The overall Best of Show winner was Charlie Taylor from Van Wert, Ohio with a 1972 Plymouth Duster.
Thanks to Bryan Mauger and Doug Glassburn, you can check out this video slideshow featuring some of the incredible rides from the Performance Charity Show.
And also thanks to Bubba Hettinger, we’ve got a gallery of photos capturing the beautiful cars and trucks that turned out for the Hebron Nazarene Show.
The Best of Show winner at the Hebron Nazarene Car and Truck Show was Melody Thomas and her 1963 split-window Corvette.

Sunday’s Cartober Fest was one of those rare shows where everyone in your close circle of friends went home with an award — the kind of event you remember for a long time.

Chuck’s Car Tunes Wooden Nickel Cruise-In:
Sunday’s Wooden Nickel Cruise-In at the Heart of Ohio Antique Center in Springfield wrapped up the season in true Chuck’s Car Tunes fashion — great weather, great cars, and great music. The event drew around 130 vehicles, filling the lot with everything from classic cruisers and muscle cars to modern performance machines.

For those not familiar with the Wooden Nickel tradition, here’s how it works: at any show or cruise-in where Chuck’s Car Tunes is the DJ, participants can purchase a wooden nickel for one dollar. The money collected from the sale of those nickels is set aside all season long, then raffled off in cash prize increments at the year-ending Wooden Nickel Cruise-In. It’s a fun, creative way to keep the excitement going all summer and reward the loyal crowd that supports Chuck’s events.
Jeff Shankle was on hand to capture the day, sharing a fantastic collection of photos that showcase the wide variety of rides on display.
Auto Show @ Walmart:
The final show of the season at the Walmart in London, Ohio, on Saturday kicked off the Trunk or Treat–themed events for the next few weeks.
Tom and Betty Lawrence shared photos from the show, where their 2008 Volkswagen Beetle earned both a Top 20 and Best Decorated award.
That's a wrap for this week’s News and Notes. The next few weeks will see the Trunk or Treat events popping up across Central Ohio, marking the close of the 2025 car show season. There are still plenty of opportunities left to get your car out before winter sets in, so keep an eye on the calendar and stock up on the Halloween candy.
Contributors this week include Bubba Hettinger, Bryan Mauger, Doug Glassburn, Jeff Shankle, Tom Lawrence, Kevin Foust, Liz Martin, and Lynn Raduege. A big thank you to each of them for their contributions!
Stay safe, stay cool, and keep those wheels rolling!
