NEWS AND NOTES

The weekend weather made for an easy News and Notes this week—most shows were either canceled or postponed.

Meteorologists call this weather pattern an “omega block,” which causes prolonged periods of rain and cool temperatures. I don’t care what it’s called—I don’t like it!

Der Dutchman Cruise-In:

The first Der Dutchman Cruise-In of the season was a wash, thanks to the omega block that started on Thursday. Scattered showers throughout the afternoon and evening kept attendance to about 15 cars—one of them being a Tesla Cybertruck.

Everyone who came out got to go home with a treat from the Der Dutchman bakery. I picked the chocolate chip cookies.

Bladensburg Community Center Car Show:

One event that wasn’t canceled or postponed this weekend was the cruise-in on Sunday afternoon, hosted by Steve Kidwell and Nancy at the Bladensburg, Ohio, Community Center.

That’s all for this week’s rain-soaked News and Notes. Special thanks to Dale Pearce for reporting the canceled and postponed shows, and to Jeff Tolley for the photos from the Bladensburg cruise-in.

Until next week, stay safe out there.
