I only attended one show this weekend. I had plans to participate in the Jim Hamilton show on Saturday but my father was rushed to the hospital with chest pains and shortness of breath early Saturday morning. I spent most of
Creative Towing/Advanced Auto Parts
The Creative Towing/Advanced Auto Parts show Friday evening was my one and only show of the weekend.
This was the second show of the season for the monthly event that takes place at the Advance Auto Parts store in Marysville, Ohio. This month's show registered 21 vehicles.
Five members of the Rod Knockers Club of Marion, Ohio made the drive from Marion to attend the show.
The Advanced Auto Parts store was a little behind mowing their property. The grass was so high that it made Jimmy Carmean's '57 Thunderbird and Gary Simpson's '57 Ford look like they had been abandoned in a hay field.
The door prize and 50/50 raffles raised $100 for charity.
Being Mother's Day weekend, it was only right to have Pam Shankle do the judging. Here are her three "Favorite" picks:
1964 Buick Riviera
Owner: Robert Doren1977 Pontiac Can Am
Owner: Dustin Evans1950 Ford F1 Pickup
Owners: Cathy & Mark Krist
No question Pam did a great job picking her favorites.
Next month's Creative Towing/Advanced Auto Parts show is scheduled for Friday, June 14.
3rd Annual Jim Hamilton Car Show
As I mentioned at the start, I had full intentions of attending this show on Saturday.
This show is part of the Pepsi's Auto Smarts Radio Cruise and Ride series. All proceeds from the show are donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in the name of the late Jim Hamilton, are retired Detective with the Upper Arlington Police Force.
Since I wasn't able to attend the show, I thought I'd play a little game to see how many of the 123 registered vehicles I recognize.

That's it for last week.
My father ended up having a heart catheterization. I'm praying that everything settles down with him and I can attend some shows this weekend.
Hope your dad is on the mend !!! Best wishes for him and your family.
Thanks Clement! He's still in the hospital. If things continue to progress he might get discharged Wednesday or Thursday.
Hope you dad recovers quickly!
Thanks, Matt! Hope to see you soon.
Sorry to hear about your dad, I have a good idea what he is (was) going going through....I pray he is on the road to recovery very quickly....
Thanks Cliff! He had a heart catheterization on Monday and they were able to put in a stint in one of the bypass grafts from 40 years ago. The doctors have been watching his kidney function to make sure it's stable. The contrast media they use to visualize the heart can be toxic to the kidneys. My Dad has reduced kidney function to start with so the doctors are monitoring his kidney function to make sure it doesn't get worse. It's looking like he might be discharged to a skilled nursing facility today or tomorrow.
