Upcoming Events (June 26 – July 2)

The big event this week will be the 37th Annual Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show and Cruise-In in Dublin, Ohio. There are still plenty of events in the area for those of us not going to the Arthritis show.

Der Dutchman in Plain City, Ohio will be holding its first Coffee and Donut Cruise-In Saturday morning. There will be special pricing on donuts at the Cruise-In. I can taste the long johns already.

Another dozen shows have been added to the Save the Dates Part Two page this week. July and August are "jam packed" with events to mark on your calendar.

Although a chance of rain is in the forecast for this Sunday June 30th, Dankhouse Brewing ( 161 Forry St. Newark, Ohio 43056) is still planning to have a Cruise In at their place from 1pm-5pm. The brewery opens at noon. FREE--no judging, no trophies, nothing but car people talking cars over a cold and fresh beer. Ahhhhh!!!!

I was looking forward to the Arthritis Foundation show this year but then I saw the Fiat, Mustang and Miata marquee announcement. Holy cow, what PC non-car person picked that lineup of awful? They might as well have had a Camry corral or a daily driver mini van pavilion. The good news for anyone actually interested, if you miss the show you can just take a lap through your local Walmart parking lot at any time of day, 365 days a year and see all of that you care to.

I have no problem with the Fox Body Mustangs getting a marques designation. A lot of folks think they're some of the best muscle cars ever made. But I feel the same as you when it comes to designating the Miata, Fiat and trucks and SUVs as featured marques vehicles. Why would I pay $20 to see a bunch of Honda Pilots or Chevy Traverses on display?
