You can imagine my surprise on Friday morning at seeing salt solution or brine all over the roads in my area.

There was no way to avoid the stuff traveling east and south bound from my house. By 10 AM Friday morning every street in my parent's neighborhood had been sprayed with the stuff.

I'm still trying to understand why the roads needed to be treated in the first place. The long term forecast didn't call for any snow. There was a slight chance of showers Saturday evening. Were local officials afraid the rain would freeze on the roads? Temperatures were predicted to be in the upper 40s at the time. And even if the temperatures did drop close to freezing, the ground and roads are still warm enough to prevent any ice from forming.

Since I couldn't get out of the area without encountering the salt, I made the decision to keep my Camaro in the garage this weekend. What a bummer!

Here's what's on tap for this next to last weekend of the season.

Please Note: The Halloween Spooktacular Show at the Pointe Sports Bar and Grill was rescheduled from Saturday, October 26th to Sunday, November 3rd because of weather.

With Ohio State off this weekend, the last BIG Saturday of events is upon us. Things really start to slow down after Saturday. I'm looking at four more weekends of events and then we're finished for the year.

If you're interested in what's left for the rest of the season, check out the Save the Dates Part Two page.

For the first time this season, no new events have been added to the  Save the Dates Part Two page. I think all the shows and cruise-ins for the remainder of the season have finally been announced.

Quick Reminder: This Thursday Der Dutchman in Plain City, Ohio is trying to set a record of 300 cars at their cruise-in! If you're not doing anything that evening, bring your car out to Der Dutchman and be part of a record.

After this weekend another month will be in the books for the 2019 season.

September promises to be another big month of events. I counted well over 60 shows and cruise-ins when you add in the ongoing events.

Labor Day weekend will see the Dublin Rotary, Ohio Masonic Home, and Deer Creek Marina host first-time car shows.

This Saturday also marks the start of Ohio State Football. Should be an interesting season with a new head coach and quarterback. Go Bucks!

Check out the Save the Dates Part Two page for a list of events through the end of the season.
