Here are the Central Ohio events I've been able to gather for Memorial Day weekend.

I haven't been able to confirm the show at Tee Jaye's. Events seem to pop up or get canceled as we get closer to the weekend so feel free to check back often for updates.

Update: The Show at Tee Jaye's has been canceled. Ronnie Wineka is hoping to host the show in June.

News and Notes:

The Hilton Polaris Wednesday Night Cruise which was scheduled to start this week has been postponed indefinitely. I spoke with someone from the Hilton last week and the goal is to start the cruise-ins sometime in July, however, no date has been decided. Likewise, the weekly Der Dutchman Cruise-In in Plain City slated to start May 28 has also been postponed indefinitely. Wayne Nisly, who manages the cruise-in, hopes the cruise-in can begin sometime in June.

Speaking of Plain City, it was announced on Monday that the annual downtown classic car show has been canceled for 2020. The show plans to return next year.

For an updated list of cancellations, postponements, and rescheduled events, check out the Save the Dates for 2020 page. I've been updating this page most every day.

The Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show & Cruise-In scheduled for August 20-22 is looking for the following 1970 model year cars to display in the Special Vehicle Tent:

AMC Gremlin and AMC Hornet, Ford Pinto and Ford Maverick, Chevy Monte Carlo and Chevy Vega, Datsun 240Z, Dodge Challenger, Citroen SM, Porsche 914, and IH Scout II

If you own or know someone who owns a 1970 version of any of these vehicles and would love to see it prominently displayed at the Arthritis show, please email Kevin Gadd (email@kevingadd.com) or Jeff Larger (JLarger@route36mc.com).

I often get the question from readers asking how they can get email notification when a new article is posted. The best way is to submit a comment. At the bottom of each posting is a link that will either read "Leave a comment" or list the number of comments already submitted for that particular post. Click on that link and scroll to the bottom of the page to access the "Leave a Reply" form. The form has fields for your name and email address and a checkbox labeled "Notify me of new posts by email". You only need to check the checkbox one time to join the notification list. If you're interested in getting notification, submit a simple reply saying Hi. I swear on a stack of Bibles you will NEVER receive any spam emails from this website. You'll only be notified when a new post is published.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Memorial Day weekend!

I wasn't able to do any "judged" shows this weekend because of family committments. However, I did manage to hear from a friend who attended the 79th Annual Memorial Day Fish Fry & Car show in Lithopolis, Ohio that was hosted by the C-Town Cruisers.

The show had 172 vehicles register for the event. This was most ever in the show's 79 year history.

I contacted Shaun "Big Dawg" Sanders, president of C-Town Cruisers, to see if he had any photos from the event. He replied that things were going so quickly he didn't have time to write anything down. With 172 cars and trucks, I can imagine the day was a bit hectic.

With that said, here's what my friend was able to report:

The show gave out 44 awards, a Best of Show, Mayor's Choice, and the rest were class "Favorites".

A 1947 Plymouth DeSoto received Best of Show, and Mayor's Choice went to a 1967 Corvette.

If you attended the show and took any photos, please feel free to send them to hawk02@carshowtalk.com. I'd love to post them to the website.

UPDATE:

Don Splitstone has posted photos from the show.
