UPDATE: I did get confirmation that the Knox Cars & Coffee Season Opener has been canceled. The Marysville Car Meet has been postponed until May 9th.

I promised to start the weekly Upcoming Events posts in April and I am a man of my word.

As you can see, a number of events scheduled for this weekend have been canceled or postponed as a result of the Coronavirus lockdown. I have reached out to the Knox Cars & Coffee and the Marysville Car Meet folks to confirm the status of their events. As of this writing, I have not heard back from either group. If you have any information about these meets, please post the info in the comments section.

If you do decide to venture out to either event (assuming they're still on), please use common sense and keep the recommended distance from other people.

Check out the Save the Dates for 2020 page for a list of future events that will hopefully take place once the spread of the virus slows and social distancing guidelines are relaxed.

I managed to do two cruise-ins and two "judged" shows this week.

The first cruise-in was, of course, Der Dutchman on Thursday evening.

The threat of severe weather kept attendance down this week. Still, the cruise-in managed to register 80 vehicles. Ten of the 80 were first-timers.

The Ford Falcon was the unofficial "featured" car this week.

Wayne held the raffle drawing for cookies, pies, cakes, and gift card an hour early because radar showed rain on the way to Plain City. Fortunately for the cruise-in, the rain went south and east of the restaurant.

I originally planned to stop by the Last Friday Cruise-in, but after cleaning my car all day and a threat of showers in the area,  I decided to spend Friday evening at home.

Saturday's weather was much improved so the first stop of the day was at Columbus Cars and Coffee at the Lennox Town Center.

This was my fourth visit this year to the Saturday morning cruise-in.  Attendance was down a little from previous visits.  I'm guessing the holiday weekend had something to do with this.

I counted three Cadillac CTS-V that made an appearance.  Here are two of them.

Family commitments kept me from making a "judged" show this weekend, however, I did manage to spend a few hours at Columbus Cars and Coffee at Lennox Town Center on Saturday morning.

By the time I arrived at 9:20, the Jeep owners had already taken over the north side of the parking lot.

Most of the cars arrived around 10:00 am.  There were well over 100 vehicles at the peak of the cruise-in.

Columbus Cars and Coffee crowd

Saturday morning I decide to make the trek down 315 and attend Columbus Cars and Coffee at Lennox Town Center. The unseasonably warm weather not only brought out a lot of car owners but also a lot of spectators. By 10 AM the parking lot was buzzing with people.  By my unofficial count, more than 120 cars turned out for this week's cruise-in.

I have to admit I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Columbus Cars and Coffee. You tend to see cars that you wouldn't normally see at a "judged" car show. This Saturday was no exception. The morning featured a nice mix of classic, late-model, and modified cars. Read more
