Everyone was greeted Friday evening with heat and brutal humidity at Jack Maxton's July Cruise-in. The cool jazz sounds of the Arnett Howard Band tried hard to kept crowd comfortable throughout the evening.
Because of the weather, only 160 vehicles registered this month - down almost 100 vehicles from the June cruise-in.
A passing rain cell around 8 PM brought about 15 minutes worth of sprinkles to the show. It dropped Just enough water to bring out the drying towels.

Jack Maxton Chevrolet kicked off the first of their four monthly cruise-ins on Friday evening.The dealership has been holding these monthly Chevy only car shows for 26 years.
The third Friday in June, July, August and September the Maxton team moves all the cars from the west and front sides of the dealership to make room for the cruisers. There's live music, a DJ, 50/50 raffle, food truck and t-shirt raffle. Registration is free. The t-shirt raffle costs $5 for a chance to win $150 and $50. Maxton gives out more than 70 awards each show.
Despite the 90 degree temperatures on Friday, 250 vehicles registered for the cruise-in. An estimated 50-75 more cars and trucks showed up that didn't register. Read more
