Shaun "Big Dawg" Sanders and his C-Town Cruisers kicked off their 2017 car show season at Buffalo Wings & Rings on East Broad Street. This is a recurring show held on the first Sunday of each month from April through October.
I had originally planned to attend this show and the Marion Rod Knockers first cruise-in of the season on Saturday. With temperatures forecasted to be in the low 40's Saturday night, I decided it was best to stay home and watch the NCAA basketball tournament. There's something just not right about wearing long johns to a car show. ?
Fortunately better weather prevailed on Sunday and brought out 52 registered cars and trucks to the Buffalo Wings & Rings. An exceptional number for an early season show.
My only negative was the parking lot was a filthy mess.
I was here two years ago for a show and there was construction on the east side of the restaurant that made the parking lot a mess. Now there's construction on the west side making the lot a mess. The front half of the lot isn't quite as dirty as the back half. If you plan to attend any of the other monthly shows, I would strongly recommend arriving early so you can get a parking spot in the front part of the lot. Otherwise be prepared for a lot of dust and mud to find it's way onto your vehicle.
