Sunday Cruisin’ at Buffalo Wings & Rings

Shaun "Big Dawg" Sanders and his C-Town Cruisers kicked off their 2017 car show season at Buffalo Wings & Rings on East Broad Street.  This is a recurring show held on the first Sunday of each month from April through October.

I had originally planned to attend this show and the Marion Rod Knockers first cruise-in of the season on Saturday.  With temperatures forecasted to be in the low 40's Saturday night, I decided it was best to stay home and watch the NCAA basketball tournament.  There's something just not right about wearing long johns to a car show. ?

Fortunately better weather prevailed on Sunday and brought out 52 registered cars and trucks to the Buffalo Wings & Rings. An exceptional number for an early season show.

My only negative was the parking lot was a filthy mess.

I was here two years ago for a show and there was construction on the east side of the restaurant that made the parking lot a mess. Now there's construction on the west side making the lot a mess. The front half of the lot isn't quite as dirty as the back half. If you plan to attend any of the other monthly shows, I would strongly recommend arriving early so you can get a parking spot in the front part of the lot. Otherwise be prepared for a lot of dust and mud to find it's way onto your vehicle.

AWARDS

The awards included 40 Favorite plaques, Best of Cruise, Favorite Truck, Favorite MOPO/Rat Rod. There were drawings for a $25 gift card to Buffalo Wings & Rings, door prizes, and 50/50.

Big Dawg and the C-Town Cruisers will hold their next show at Dan's Drive In on Saturday evening, 4/8/17.  Check out their Facebook page under the "Links" section of Community page for more details.

Weather permitting, next weekend I'll be attending the Vintage Auto Club of Delaware's first cruise-in of the season on Friday evening, and the Auto Smart's Kick Off Cruise-in at the NAPA store in Hilliard on Saturday.  I hope to report on both shows this time next week.
