The Mid Ohio Cruisers kicked off the 2018 car show season on Saturday with their annual Snow Ball Cruise-In at the Burger King restaurant in Marysville, Ohio.
Much better weather last year saw 20 vehicles show up for the cruise-in. Snow fall earlier in the week made road conditions for this year's cruise-in less than ideal and forced many to keep their cars in winter hibernation. Only nine vehicles, mostly rat rods, braved the messy roads and registered for the show.
Despite the road conditions, the Snow Ball Cruise-In provided an excellent opportunity for a mid- winter "get together". The Burger King dining area was packed wall to wall with car enthusiasts. The crowd had good representation from the Rod Knockers Club of Marion, Ohio and the Vintage Auto Club of Delaware, Ohio.
Door prizes and a 50/50 raffle were offered along with trophies for three "Favorite" vehicles selected by the members of the Mid Ohio Cruisers.
Here are this year's trophies winners:
The Mid Ohio Cruisers will begin their monthly cruise-in schedule for 2018 on April 21. For those of you who may not know, the cruise-ins are held on the third Saturday of the month from 6-9 PM, April through October at the Marysville, Ohio Burger King. Registration is free and open to all makes, models and years. So mark your calendars, it's a great way to spend a Saturday evening.
Editors Note: I was unable to attend this year's cruise-in due to a death in the family. A special shout out goes to my good friends Jeff Shankle and Frank Sanborn for their on-site reporting in my absence.
