Friday evening the Creative Towing/Advanced Auto Parts car show in Marysville, Ohio had the best turn out for its monthly show.
Almost perfect weather and a pent-up demand for a car show following what seems like the longest winter in history saw 28 cars and trucks spend an evening in Marysville.
Jeff Shankle, owner of Creative Towing and host of the show, has a goal of reaching 50 vehicles by the end of the season.
Here's Jeff directing Ben Leware and his custom 1950 Chevy flatbed to a parking spot.
For those that don't know Jeff, he buys and sells classic cars on an almost daily basis. This 1955 supercharged and nitrous equipped Chevy is one of his latest acquisitions.
The warm temperatures even brought out a creature from down under.
AWARDS
The show offered a 50/50 raffle as well as a raffle for two large buckets of car care products.
Awards were presented to the three "Favorite" vehicles as selected by Jeff's daughter.
This month's winners were Dan Varner and his 1963 Pontiac Bonneville
Cliff Small with a 1969 Chevy Chevelle
and Brian Preston with a 1968 Charger
If attendance remains good, Jeff plans to expand to five awards presented to the "favorite" automobile per a specific year range (i.e., 50-59, 60-69, etc.)
CONCLUSION
With temperatures pushing close to 80 degrees, the weather couldn't have been better for an early season car show . It was great to hook back up with friends that I hadn't seen since last fall.
If you're looking for something to do the second Friday of the month from now through November, check out the Creative Towing/Advanced Auto Parts show. It will only cost you the price of gas to drive to Marysville.
Next show will be May 11, 2018.
My 1st time at the show (1982 Plymouth Gran Fury Salon), nice little show, good people.
Believe it or not, this monthly show has been going on since June of 2014. Usually gets around 10 to 15 cars. It was great to see it get almost double that number last night.
Myself and several of my friends have been regulars since the beginning. Jeff from Creative Towing is going to do more advertising this year to try and grow the show.
As you found out, it's a great group of people that show up every month. Very relaxed atmosphere and fun way to spend a Friday evening. I drive over from the Columbus to attend.
Thank's Marty glad you could make it out and that you had a good time hope to see you next month. Thanks Jeff
Is this one of those shows that only recognizes classic mostly stock rides? Thought about riding down but if that's the deal, I'd have to pass.
This show welcomes all makes, models and years. A 2013 Shelby GT 500 convertible received an a award at the May show.
